I have been so crazy busy the past few weeks that I haven’t had time to write a decent blog post about hardly anything, it seems. I’ve got some egg questions on my mind – and I usually always find something to share about turkey, but with my organization’s summer conference last week, I haven’t been able to think about anything else. (As part of my job at the Minnesota Turkey Growers Association, I oversee the planning of the entire event. If you want to see me running around like a chicken with its head cut off, you should see me at this event. Pun intended.)
But last night, time stood still for a couple of hours as I watched my boy play baseball. It was hot and sticky and about as summery as it can get in June in Minnesota. And it was just about perfect. I caught this picture of Joe as he was coming off an inning of catching, and I thought – wow, doesn’t he look just like a real catcher! How did that happen? I don’t know if he loves baseball enough to stick with it for years to come (and I’m okay with that, either way), but I think being a catcher is growing on him. For now, that’s enough.
Great summery blog Lara! What a confident looking young man Joe has become. I have said it a couple times already this summer, but why can’t time just stand still for a moment??
I wish it would at least slow down, that’s for sure, Lynn!
Soak it all up, Lara! They grow up too fast. Love reading what you journal….always a home-run.
Aww, thanks for the smile today, Diane! 🙂
