I am feeling completely random tonight, so I’m going to list my stream of consciousness and see what happens. Ready, set go:
- I took two naps today. Two! I seriously can’t remember the last time I did that. I think even Teacher Man – who is really an excellent Sunday afternoon napper – was surprised. Time will tell if that means I will be wide awake until midnight, but in the meantime, it was totally worth it.
- In between my naps, I spent the better part of several hours watching a marathon of the Real Housewives of Orange County and I don’t feel at all guilty about it.
- The brand-new Radisson Blu Hotel, connected to the Mall of America, completely lives up to its billing – and it’s going to be the perfect place for a girls’ shopping weekend. (Last year, it was Des Moines, this year MOA??)
- Tickets to Sea Life Minnesota (the aquarium experience at the Mall of America) is way cheaper for Minnesota residents if you book online – be sure to click on the “Minnesota Saver Ticket” option.
- Speaking of the Mall of America, the clearance rack at DSW Shoe Warehouse rarely disappoints.
- I don’t care how “comfortable” people say the weather is, it’s early August and it feels too much like September – plus I saw sumac on my way home from the lake today that is already changing to its fall colors. It’s too early for that!
- I am completely obsessed with all versions of House Hunters, “Love it or List It” and “Love it or List It Too” on HGTV.
- I have no idea how to the scoring works on one of those beanbag toss games – and I really don’t want to know.
- While I know that leeches are good bait for fish, I still don’t want to touch them or put them on the hook. I am totally girly like that.
- I just realized that I am leaving for Charlotte, NC in about three weeks and I haven’t bought my plane ticket yet. That is totally unlike the organized me.
- I am in a bit of denial that I am going back to work tomorrow, after a week’s staycation, but I am quite proud of myself for mostly not thinking about work while I’ve been off. I did occasionally go through my email, mainly to delete junk so that I don’t arrive to 1,500 emails to go through on Monday morning, but that’s been the extent of it. Yay for me!
As I head into the week and get ready to go back to work, here are the last batch of photos from my “staycation” which included a visit to the Mall of America and an overnight at my brother and sister-in-law’s lake home. Enjoy!
