I have a few blog post ideas percolating but, as is pretty typical this time of year, life gets busy and I haven’t had much time to write. That’s okay – in between my everyday work commitments, my family has enjoyed the past couple of weeks, filled with Christmas cheer and traditions:
This photo was taken just prior to Joe’s 2nd Christmas piano recital, where he lamented having to dress “fancy” but he did a wonderful job playing Holly Jolly Christmas. I am very proud of how hard my little piano player has worked the past few months.
Finally – I had a “Lefse 101” session with my Mom … stay tuned for a blog post on this experience!
My annual Christmas cookie decorating session with Joe commenced last weekend. This boy loves, loves, loves sprinkles!
I practiced making kringla (another Norwegian tradition), which always reminds me fondly of my Grandma Anderson and my Aunt Shirley.
And, most importantly, a new baby to welcome!
Yes, my sister and her husband had their baby last weekend! And now we are all completely in love with this little bundle of joy, who decided to arrive a couple of weeks early. Our Christmas Day get-together will take on special meaning, as we all take turns snuggling with Morgan Jean. She is a very blessed little girl already, with devoted parents and so many family and friends who are so excited for her arrival.
Joe didn’t want to give her up!
I know I am a little biased, but isn’t she just a perfect Christmas bundle?
I have many reasons to be joyous, thankful and happy this holiday season. Thank you for following along with Printmyemotions this year – I hope you’ve enjoyed my posts and I look forward to sharing more with you in 2014.
On behalf of Teacher Man, Joe and Earl the Pug, have a Merry Christmas and we wish you much love, peace and happiness in the New Year!
Merry Christmas to you and yours, Lara. I enjoy your blog…..it’s something I look forward to. Hope your New Year is happy and healthy.
Thank you so much – that means a lot! 🙂 I wish I had more time to blog but one week at a time! Merry Christmas to you as well!
Looks like you had a wonderful Christmas time! And tell Joe to keep learning the piano. I just started learning haha.
We did have a great Christmas – I hope you did too! I will relay that message to Joe – I hope he keeps at it too! 🙂
