Anyone watching the Golden Globes right now? It’s a guilty pleasure of mine – although, truth be told, I think I like the pre-show red carpet coverage the best. Dresses, jewels, heels, tuxes … all that fanciness to watch and, let’s be honest, judge just a little bit!
And of course, in preparation for watching all these fit and insanely thin women walking the red carpet, the most normal thing in the world is to bake some salted caramel brownies, right?
I agree, too! Thank you for confirming my normalcy.
I couldn’t help myself … the recipe was calling my name from my new Ina Garten cookbook, Barefoot Contessa – Foolproof. (I received it as part of my #ChristmasintheCountry2014 gift exchange, which you can read about here.) My first bite of warm brownie did not disappoint – the flavors are amazing.
Chocolate, coffee, caramel and sea salt. Yum.
I think the brownies might be even better in the morning, after the pan has had a chance to sit. I see mid-morning coffee and a treat to warm up my Monday (and happy co-workers, as well).
You can find the recipe online here – I followed it exactly because Ina Garten knows her stuff. But don’t worry – this isn’t difficult, I promise! And soooo worth it.
Enjoy the Golden Globes, if you’re watching, and let me know who you think was best dressed. Right now, I’m loving Jennifer Aniston’s black gown and also thought Julianne Moore looked stunning in silver. As for the men? I have to say Benedict Cumberbatch and Colin Firth get my vote – those Brits always look especially dashing in a tux. 🙂

P.S Teacher Man and I just saw The Imitation Game yesterday and it was phenomenal. Run – don’t walk – to the theater if you haven’t seen this movie yet.
