Well, I have to say this week went by fairly quickly. It seems as if I spent the bulk of my time in the office troubleshooting technology issues. (While my title is “communications director” of the Minnesota Turkey Growers Association, I also wear the hats of human resources and IT/tech support by default in our small office of five people.)

And when email doesn’t work, let me tell you it’s not a pretty sight.

But we’re back up and running now, and – fingers crossed – we have smoother sailing ahead.

On a personal note, we’re heading into the weekend with a clean house, thanks to Teacher Man. He pushed us to clean the upstairs on Tuesday and the main floor tonight. I’d say I’m the chief clothes washer and meal maker, while Teacher Man is definitely the head cleaner around here.

And this was also a week of “egg” posts for me! If you haven’t read my guest blog post for the American Farm Bureau Foundation about egg labels, you can find it here. And my post entitled “Are Animal Activists Calling the Shots” has gotten a lot of shares on social media as well.

As I enjoy my celebratory glass of wine (“Yay, clean house!), I share with you a few pics – mostly garden-related, fair warning – from the week.

I’m oddly obsessed with this picture. I took it last night after it had rained all day, so everything is looking super green.

My new dahlia, just planted last weekend and starting to bloom.

Alyssum| printmyemotions.com

This is actually a teeny tiny alyssum plant that the bunnies have not yet found and claimed as their own. I’m completely living on the edge by not surrounding it with chicken wire.

A couple more of my containers, just after the light rain Thursday night.

A good Thursday afternoon = getting some turkey products delivered from Jennie-O Turkey Store! I’m already planning to share a very fun turkey burger recipe for #TurkeyTuesday next week!

Okay. So this is me last night, about 45 minutes after I had gone for a 3-mile run. And yes, you are correct if you think this is a slice of banana cream pie in front of me. 1) This is why I run. And 2) This is why I love the St. Paul Grill – the banana cream pie is just like my Grandma Doris used to make and well worth every single calorie.

And finally, this is Earl the Pug and Joe’s iPad. I am not sure how the dog can sleep like this, but he can. I suppose this is what happens when you are 15 (or 107 in human years). Sleeping becomes an art form as well as an absolute necessity.

Hope you have a fabulous weekend, friends!
