I’m sure it comes as no surprise that we make turkey burgers 90 percent of the time at my house. I love experimenting with the flavors because ground turkey – bland by nature – lends itself to so many different spices and add-ins.

Turkey Zucchini Burgers with Lemon Yogurt Sauce

Ingredients
  

Burger

  • 1 16-ounce package JENNIE-O® Lean Ground Turkey
  • 1-1/2 cups zucchini grated (approximately 1 large)
  • 2 green onions thinly chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt or kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin

Lemon Yogurt Sauce

  • 7 ounces plain Greek yogurt
  • Zest of one lemon
  • Juice of one lemon
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt or kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl combine all sauce ingredients, stir well and set aside.
  • In a large bowl combine all burger ingredients and with dampened hands shape into burgers.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in large skillet over medium-high heat and cook burgers until golden brown and until the burger reaches 165 degrees F, about 6 to 7 minutes per side.
  • Serve with lemon yogurt sauce.

Notes

This recipe would also make great turkey meatballs - just use the lemon yogurt sauce for dipping!
