I’m bringing some Christmas cheer to this Monday because I think we’re all badly in need of it at my house. Ha! What is it about the Monday after a break that is so hard to handle? Joe had the toughest time waking up, I was a stressful mess at the office, and we’re all tired tonight.
Tomorrow is another day, right?
In the meantime, here are few of my favorite photos from the Christmas decorations we put up in the house over the weekend. 🙂

The snow is basically gone but we’ve got Christmas lights!
These vintage metal ornaments came from my mother-in-law – so fun!
Here’s a closer look – just because I adore them.
My vintage silver tree also came from my in-laws. (Did I mention I am one lucky gal?!) It’s tradition for Joe and Teacher Man to put this together every year – all the silver branches are individually placed into the wood center one-by-one.
My minimalist mantel! I used to drape a rather big garland and lights across the old mantel, but this new white version just seems to work better with a more simplfied look.
It’s our first Christmas in a very long time without Earl the Pug, but his stocking was still hung with care in a special spot. (And the apron is vintage – one front pocket says Merry Christmas; the other pocket says Happy New Year!)
Joe’s favorite … nutcrackers! This picture actually doesn’t even include the new one his Aunt Dana bought him when she took him to the Russian Nutcracker ballet last Saturday in Minneapolis!
And our tree – in a new area this year on our back porch where we enjoy it every night.
