It felt fabulous to be home the entire weekend with no schedule! It probably sounds a little crazy, but it was nice to get some laundry done, wash all the sheets off the beds, go grocery shopping, cook an actual meal for my family … all those things I haven’t had a lot of time for over the course of the past couple of weeks because of my work travel schedule.
I even have Joe’s favorite chocolate chip cookie dough chilling in the fridge right now, awaiting some bake time this afternoon.
Don’t get me wrong, my trip to Disneyworld for the National Turkey Federation’s annual convention was worthwhile – and even included a little Disney fun with an afternoon excursion to the Magic Kingdom with a few of my industry friends.
True story: the only roller coaster I have EVER ridden was Big Thunder Mountain Railroad when I was at Magic Kingdom when I was 16. I’ve never been too keen on roller coasters, generally-speaking, and I think it’s safe to say my family is not big on rides at all, so I am definitely roller coaster-challenged. However, I’m proud to report I hit up Big Thunder Mountain Railroad again last week – AND I actually rode Space Mountain twice!
This photo below, of course, elicited a “You suck!” response from Joe via a text. 😉 “This is a work trip?” he asked. LOL
I also had fun packing all my LuLaRoe pieces for my trip – no wrinkles, no problems. Just easy, comfortable, and fun pieces to wear! My favorite was probably this outfit for our last night’s banquet … it’s a Nicole dress with a Lindsay kimono. (And the red suede shoes with block heels from The Gap make me smile!)
As long as I’m talking clothes and shoes, here were my other favorite outfits:
I wore a LuLaRoe Carly, leggings, and my new raspberry-colored Puma sneaks to the Magic Kingdom. 🙂
LuLaRoe Amelia (peacock feathers!) with Born brown suede flats. (But wow – my smile is super weird in this selfie – ha!)
Okay, back to regular life … this next story epitomizes Teacher Man and myself and our approach to Valentine’s Day. 😉 We went to Target on Saturday to get some groceries. We decided, ahead of time, given the busy schedule of Monday (back to work – including parent-teacher conferences that evening for Teacher Man), that we would pick out our Valentine’s Day cards to each other while we were there. Together.
Now, I will say we did not peek at each other’s cards. However, it was pretty humorous picking out cards at the same time – and we even had a lady in the card aisle tell us, “I’ve never seen a couple pick out their Valentine’s Day cards together!”
Yep, that would be us. LOL
We bought tulips too, at my strong suggestion. 😉
Let’s talk Saturday night meal … Jennie-O Oven Ready Cajun Style whole turkey. This was Uh-Mazing. It definitely had a Cajun kick and it was so tender and juicy. Plus, super easy – it cooked right in the bag, straight from the freezer. (No defrosting!)
And paired with a yummy Broccoli-Cauliflower Casserole (with plenty of cheese!) – so delicious – as well as mashed potatoes and gravy. You know me and comfort food – it’s my favorite!
I’m off now to get ready for a LuLaRoe Album Sale I have going on tonight in my Facebook group (join here if you are interested!). Plus, I am hoping to use some of the leftovers from the Cajun turkey in a recipe to post for Turkey Tuesday. I hope you all have a fabulous Sunday and great start to your week!
