It’s a good Monday evening when I can have a grilled cheese sandwich for supper with Joe,  finish my workout by 8 p.m., and tune in to The Voice while writing some new blog posts.

It doesn’t take much to make me happy. 😉

This also made me happy this morning:

Harvest time. This was the view from my windshield on the drive to work this morning.

My other reality: Joe’s been hacking up a lung since last Wednesday but he claims it’s getting better. I’m not completely sure that isn’t a ploy to keep himself away from Urgent Care, but I’m going to give it one more day and see how it goes.

He hasn’t lost his sense of humor, though. I told him I was looking up bronchitis on the Internet and he told me his symptoms will probably link to some rare foreign disease or lung cancer. Isn’t that the truth when I try to self-diagnose using Google. LOL! Believe it or not, it appears that with bronchitis, if the cough persists for THREE WEEKS, then we’re supposed to visit a doctor. Three weeks? Good grief … I’m quite certain we won’t wait that long if his barking cough continues. (I should mention that bronchitis is my current self-diagnosis of the situation but I really have no clue.)

In other news, I tried TrendSend, a personal styling service from Evereve, which has stores around the Twin Cities. I started following Evereve on Instagram and I was like, “dang, they really have some cute stuff!” I mean, I love my LuLaroe but a girl needs some different options to throw on once in a while.

TrendSend seems almost too good to be true … I signed up, filled out a questionnaire about who I am, my style preferences, and any personal quirks that would be helpful to know. (For example: I really don’t need yet another jean jacket; and also I’m 50 so do not send me any top that is remotely cropped. Tunics are my friend.)

A stylist picked out three outfits and sent them to me to try on. If I loved anything, I could buy it. Whatever I didn’t like, I could send back. No styling fee. No shipping fees either way. I only paid for what I wanted to keep. That’s it.

And I was surprised – actually shocked, if I’m honest – that everything that was sent to me was actually super cute and mostly fit me really well. I didn’t keep everything for various reasons, but I snagged an amazing deal on a pair of Hudson jeans and the coziest ribbed sweater tunic that is pretty fabulous with the jeans but will also work with my LuLaRoe leggings too!

So yeah, I have new jeans now. I can hear my sister chuckling because I rarely wear jeans. 😉

Our Saturday, by the way:

Monday Randomness | via printmyemotions.comDid I tell you that we won $300 in pulltabs on Saturday? Teacher Man, Joe, and I went for a drive to see the last of the fall colors and ended up at this little out-of-the-way bar and restaurant for lunch. We had great burgers and fries and decided to spend $20 on pulltabs. Joe took one of them and his eyes got bigger as he saw one orange line and then a 2nd orange line.

Both Teacher Man and I took a look at it. I mean, I even got my cheaters out to be sure.

Yep, we had ourselves a winner!

Of course, being upstanding parents, we hastily reminded Joe that this is typically not what happens when we gamble on pulltabs. 😉 Then we proceeded to stop on our way home to buy Powerball and Mega Millions lottery tickets.

Last on my random list for tonight… on Sunday I planted my garlic. Whew! I was running out of time so this needed to happen. This year, I really tried to keep all the different varieties organized and marked in my garden. This would be how my mom plants her garlic, I promise you. This is not how I would plant my garlic in years past — but a girl can change her ways, right?

Monday Randomness | via printmyemotions.comHope your Monday has been a good start to the week, my friends! And remember … embrace the randomness!

xoxo – Lara
