Oh Sunday night, we meet again.

I’m still relishing our mini Fixer Upper family room, perhaps even more so now because I scored a great deal on the cutest curtains at Target and I found a fabulous coffee table at the Buffalo Nickel Antique Barn over the weekend.

The curtains are a lovely bluish-gray color and really lend themselves to the peaceful feel of the entire space. And thanks to a coupon and my Target RedCard, I scored four panels for just over $50. I love a good bargain!

Our new little coffee table is being put to good use by Joe tonight, who is busy creating his own Super Mario game on his Wii U. (He looks fairly serious about this, doesn’t he?) The table itself was actually taller but Teacher Man cut off the legs to make it the perfect height for our couch. He’s pretty handy, that guy!

Along with the purchases came a fair amount of silliness on Saturday, as I “dragged” Teacher Man to several antique / “occasional” shops in Buffalo to look for a table. (These stores are called “occasional sales” because they typically open just one weekend a month and sometimes on other random days.)

Teacher Man found himself a friend at one of the shops in downtown Buffalo (I think it was Now & Again, but I can’t quite remember for sure). Actually, there is a reason for this photo – Teacher Man’s sister is a HUGE Elvis fan so we had to take this picture and email it to her immediately. I’m thinking she might need this Elvis cut-off in her house  – wink wink!

And filed under slightly creepy finds, how about this coffee mug? I think there is something oddly disturbing about it. 😉

The rest of the weekend was pretty low-key. We watched The Revenant, which was fairly intense (um, ya think?), and Joe had a sleepover birthday party Saturday night. I also made this amazing Asiago-Garlic Pull-Apart Bread that we are now officially obsessed with.

Watch for a new Turkey Tuesday post this week – it’s going to be a fabulous and family-friendly take on turkey cutlets.
