Another fabulous Girls Weekend is in the books. How did that happen? We spend weeks planning and anticipating, it’s all over in a heartbeat, and now we start the process all over again for 2017. 🙂
This year we made downtown Saint Paul our home base (love the Embassy Suites!) and branched out from there. Our major endeavors included:
- A tour of Bachman’s Ideas House and gift shop on Lyndale Avenue in Minneapolis. If you love home decor and the holidays, this is a MUST-SEE tour. My photos below will give you sufficient evidence of this.
- Dinner at the most eclectic little gastropub in downtown Saint Paul – SW Craft Bar. It’s a bit hard to find (umm, I had to call the restaurant from the street and ask where the actual entrance was) but the Asian cuisine was quite wonderful and we also enjoyed a few tacos on the side as well. (I did mention it was eclectic, yes?)
- A LuLaRoe Sip and Shop event at my friend, Erica’s, home. This was so much fun and a great way for my gals to get a better feel for what LuLaRoe is all about. We could try on clothes to our heart’s content and find the styles we loved. Very fun! (And for the record, our friend Billy, who joined us at SW Craft Bar beforehand, coined a new phrase – “Chug and Charge!”)
- Shopping local in downtown White Bear Lake – definitely a #winwin for us. The shops were a range of home decor, toys, pet items, and clothing – a little something for everyone, dare I say, and it felt like we weren’t in the Twin Cities at all. Highly recommend!
- Big box retail shopping in Woodbury – because it wouldn’t be Girls Weekend without DSW Shoe Warehouse. Enough said.
- A fabulous Saturday night meal at Faces Mears Park, with a mix of Moroccan, French, Mediterranean, and American influences. I love that place!
Teacher Man looked at the itinerary before I left and did mention that it appeared we were “very scheduled.” I suppose he’s right but it didn’t necessarily feel like that was a bad thing. We just like to get out and enjoy ourselves when we’re together – and we do build in plenty of relax-with-a-glass-of-wine time back at the hotel too.
The perfect Girls Weekend! 🙂
My cousin, Christine, and sister, Jodi, outside the Bachman’s Ideas House.
So many holiday decor ideas at Bachman’s Idea House!
A little wine time with my girls!
More home decor fun in White Bear Lake – most of these photos are from the cutest little shop called Upsy Daisy. Well worth the drive!
And it’s tradition that I buy myself a new winter hat every Girls Weekend! This one came from GoodThings – Clothing in White Bear Lake.
I also found these crazy fun readers in Kowalski’s Supermarket in White Bear Lake, of all places! My motto is, if I have to wear readers, I might as well have some fun with them.
Yep. DSW Shoe Warehouse, where – perhaps not surprisingly – four of us walked away with new boots.
My lamb tagine (pronounced “tah-zhine”) at Faces – this is a Moroccan dish name named after the clay pot it is slow cooked in.
My favorite girls – cousin (Chris), sister-in-law (Dana), sister (Jodi), and mom (Marilyn)!
And proof that I can color- and pattern-mix with the best of them, behold my new slippers paired with a comfy pair of LuLaRoe leggings … perfect after a night out on the town!
Until next time, girls!
