I had way too much fun this weekend – starting with the fact that I took Friday off and turned it into a three-day weekend. Plus, the weather was GLORIOUS. It felt like summer – finally!
Here’s a rundown of everything we packed into the last three days:
Thursday night
Teacher Man and I went to Hall & Oates in concert at Xcel Arena in Saint Paul and it was amazing. We loved it! (Although the opening act, Tears for Fears, was more weirdly 80s and it seemed like an awkward pairing.) Here we are as date night started:
Friday
Girls day! My mom was already in town to hang with Joe while we went to the concert on Thursday, so my sister and niece headed over to Buffalo where we all had pedicures – including Miss Morgan’s very first pedi ever! I think she liked it, although it took longer than her 3-year-old mind was expecting. 😉
After the pedicures, we hit up Bunker’s Of Course for lunch and ate out on the deck in the sunshine – it was amazing! A little wine, some fabulous food, and more girl time … just what I needed!
After lunch, we headed back to my house where we could goof around outside some more.
Friday night
Joe had a couple of friends over for a sleepover and they relegated themselves to the basement for video games and general vampire-like behavior. 😉 Teacher Man and I enjoyed the gorgeous evening out on our deck.
Saturday
Saturday was tons of gardening and work around the yard … there was so much that needed to be cleaned up and weeded. Then later in the day the boys took me to the PGA Tour Golf Shop in Minnetonka to pick out one of my Mother’s Day gifts – new golf shoes!
Yes, they are that bright and I love them! I’m hoping the tendonitis in my elbow heels soon so I can get back on the course and try them out. 🙂
We also took my “official” Mother’s Day photo with Joe, who clearly has been growing on a weekly basis now. Crazy!!
Sunday
Sunday brought about more outdoor projects … I did a lot of potting up of my annuals while Teacher Man tackled some new fencing around our vegetable beds, which are enticing for all the bunnies that call our property home.
And of course … Mother’s Day! Joe gave me a new metal frog to add to my outdoor frog collection! (Joe has always LOVED frogs so it’s a tradition of his to give me frogs for Mother’s Day.)
And we enjoyed our Sunday night Dairy Queen tradition, of course!
Here’s a picture of my mom and me from Friday … I was so glad to be able to spend the day with her, even if it wasn’t on Mother’s Day!
I’ll be back later this week with a garden update … and hopefully also with a new Turkey Tuesday recipe!
Happy Mother’s Day!
